Last night saw the opening of the brand new MRP flagship store at the V&A Waterfront. As always Mr Price is raising the bar for SA retailers!
With so many international brands arriving in South Africa MRP is stepping up their game to compete in their space and store experience as well as price.
So what’s changed? The whole store has been beautifully designed from the lighting to the finishes. Everything is beautifully displayed and is a lot less cluttered. It feels more premium and will definitely challenge the international retailers.
My favourite display was the Nick Coutts range for MRP (above). Nick was the winner of last year’s Elle Rising Star award and this is his range produced exclusively for MRP. So many pretty pastels, sheers and shimmer! (A birdy told me it goes online on Monday!)
If you’re in Cape Town this weekend be sure to go down and check the store out for yourself. They’re going to have DJ’s, stylists and a lot of cool competitions going down.
Here’s a small peek at the opening night festivities.
Tasty combinations: Cauliflower soup and Candy floss.

If you see something you like remember you can shop most of their range online.
This game was the best! It’s your normal crane game except you pay with a tweet for a “token” and you use your hand to move the crane around to try and get one of these magic balls. Inside these little geometric balls were fashion treats like shoes, sunnies, tops etc. I hope they still have it around this weekend! If it’s there you gotsa play!
