I’ve just seen Tim Burton’s latest film Big Eyes and my brain feels happy and full of visual inspiration!
The movie is inspiring on so many levels. I loved the colours, cinematic shots, the fashion, the strange art and the characters (tamer than the usual Burton movie) but the best part of the movie for me was Amy Adam’s performance.
Adams plays American artist Margaret Keane, who was the key figure in one of the biggest art fraud cases in history. Her work and talent “stolen” by her husband no less.
It’s definitely not as strange as all Tim Burton’s other movies but has enough quirkiness to satisfy.
It comes out nationwide today.
